Kayla and Jake have a really special place in my heart. To date this is one of my favorite wedding days I’ve been apart of. Kayla just is joy. She makes joy a pronoun and carries it so beautifully. They got married at the stunning Highland Springs Ranch in Southern California. Kayla wore David’s Bridal and looked like perfection. I hope these photos give you a sense of how incredible this day was.
I cried as I put this post together. A wedding from way back when that I was too busy at the time to blog. I photographed this wedding with my friend Omar Carter, who unfortunately passed away shortly after this wedding. This post is in Omar’s honor. Being a photographer was everything to Omar and it showed. Unlike most posts, photos of him are mixed in throughout the visual story of this day. I hope you enjoy the portraits I took of him throughout the day. We miss you, Omar. Your joy in these photos shows and I am thankful I have them to remember you by.
When Lucy Laucht contacted me about photographing her Brooklyn wedding day, I almost squealed a bit because the Lucy Laucht emailed me. Their wedding day was just as amazing as I could have pictured. They got ready at the Wythe Hotel and got married at North Brooklyn Farms on the East River. Lucy and Paul did a first look on the streets of Brooklyn and we wandered around in the rain the rain around Williamsburg. Lucy's dad drove their VW Vanagon to the ceremony (which might have stalled out twice during the couple block drive). And they had a busker from the L train perform after the ceremony to set the mood for the reception. Such a dream of a day. Also, check out this wedding featured on West Elm!
